Happy Birthday ABWA
September 22, 2011 many celebrated ABW Day at the National Women’s Leadership Conference in Irving, TX. The IMPACT Council will celebrate our ABW Day Celebration on October 8, 2011. Come and join us at the “ABW Day Tea”. It has been some time since we have celebrated ABW Day in the area, so in following the National theme we will be taking a look at the past before we step into the future. Instead of the regular morning meeting, we will move to a mid-day tea. Come and enjoy the food, networking, speakers and vendors.
This is the last time the Council will be together before the New Year begins. Twelve months go by fast when you only meet 4 times a year. The only business we will have on October 8th at the Tea will be the election and installation of the 2012 executive board. It is not too late to add your name to the slate. Remember this is your council and new leaders are always needed. So please have your chapter represented on October 8th to vote.
I want to congratulate all the Top Ten Nominees in the area and the Best Practices chapters. Also congratulations to all those chapters who are striving to Best Practices. Looking at the future, I see many more Top Ten Nominees, National and Local Leaders, and Best Practices chapters. Take a look through the glass ball with me and get ready for an exciting 2012.
On behalf of the outgoing board, we say thank you for all your support during the year. We have enjoyed a year of great programs, Women on the Go, the president breakfast, networking, and of course bringing back the ABW Day Celebration.
See you October 8th at the ABW Day Celebration.
In ABWA Sisterhood,
Dee Kirtley
2011 Chair
